Sail Sand Point Youth Race Team,
first practice/informational meeting, 4:00-6:00 pm. SPYS is Sail Sand Point’s youth race team for ages 11-17. The program is designed to use racing as an exciting sport and as a learning tool to help participants become better sailors. The group is highly social and demands participation from parents as well as sailors. Participants should know their points of sail, and be comfortable sailing a set course in 10 knots of wind. Frigid Digit Dinghy Regatta February 4-5
The Seattle Laser Fleet’s 2012 Frigid
Digit Dinghy Regatta will be held off Shilshole Bay Marina on Puget Sound. This event traditionally draws some of the best sailors from around the PNW. There will be a dinner on Saturday after racing. It’s an open regatta with no yacht club or class membership required. Anticipated classes are Lasers, Laser Radials and Tasars. Race Management Seminar February 4
The 2012 Oregon/Washington
Race Management Seminar will be held at Vancouver Lake Sailing Club, Vancouver, WA. The seminar will start at 0800 with National Race Officer Bill Gage at the helm assisted by Philip Parshley of Vancouver Lake. Continental breakfast as well as lunch will be provided. Goosebump Race Series The Northwest Riggers Yacht Club
winter Goose Bump Race Series on Lake Union continues February 5, 12, 19. This is a for-the-fun-of-it race series. There is no advance registration, no fees, no handicapping and no protests. Please, no excuses for collisions. Before each race, please come by the committee boat, anchored in central Lake Union, to get included in the participant list.
