some downsides to the full enclosure: First, it took away our feel for the wind so we had to keep a closer eye on the instruments and water. We had placed windows in the top connector so we could see the telltales okay, but we lost the feel of the wind on our faces. This was a little disconcerting at first but proved to not be a big deal. The second negative was reduced

visibility from condensation on the inside of the enclosure when it rained. We found a water blade style squeegee really helped with this but we had to clear the ‘windows’ every ten to fifteen minutes in the worst conditions. The last negative was physically

dealing with the enclosure. For example, getting out on deck required unzipping a panel and stepping/ducking through the opening. And then there was the hassle of taking down the enclosure and finding a place to store the panels

during nice weather. Again, not a big deal as it did not happen often but still worth mentioning. Overall, we consider the enclosure

one of the best additions we have put on the boat. We do a fair amount of off- season sailing so it makes sense for us. If we only did summer cruising I might question the expense. However, most
