Join Google+— Get on the Plus Bus!
You may have heard awhile back about invitations being extended to join Google+. Or seen +1 icons popping up recently when you perform a Google search. You’re probably thinking, what’s all the buzz about Google+ and why should my business care?
Google+ is Google’s social network, launched June 28, 2011 as a private beta, but now open to everyone. It may seem like just like an add-on to your Gmail account, a Facebook knockoff, or as some say, Facebook done right, but the most compelling reason your business should care is that Google plans to take into account Google+ involvement when generating search results. All of those +1s (a public endorsement, similar to “Like” on Facebook) could add up to a lot of exposure for your products or services.
Businesses spend billions on SEO (search engine optimization) in an attempt to top the list of search results and according to ComSore, Google controls two-thirds of the U.S. search market. Here’s your chance to improve your SEO—and it’s free! Head on over to www.google.com/+/business/ and set up a page for your business. Then search for the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce and add us to your circles.
