CCC members raise $25,645 for charity
Members of team “Pie It Forward,” many of whom met through the CCC, joined forces to help the less fortunate in our community again this past fall. This year, the team sold 921 pies and raised $25,645 for the “Pie In The Sky” annual Thanksgiving bake sale to benefit Community Servings. Team “Pie It Forward” includes CCC members Tamela Roche, Realtor®, Team Captain; Mike Bavuso, President of Big Foot Moving & Storage Inc.; Brian Jurgens, Sr. Vice-President of W.T. Kenney Co., Inc. and Brooke Kavoogian, Principal of GB Kerkorian Partners LLC.
Many Chamber members supported Team “Pie It Forward” including Leader Bank, Gregg Catsoulis of Patriot Financial Group, Phil Ferragamo of Fish Window Cleaning, Andy Winig of ImprovAndy, Phil Ciampa of Transworld Systems, Dennis Kelley of Westwood Graphics, Bob Folger & Kim Johnson of American Furniture Rental, Craig Raubenheimer of Roan Solutions, Scott Farmelant of Mills & Company Inc., Kris Potter of Cambridge Offset Printing and Laurie Rothstein of Breakthrough Cambridge.
“Official Pie Mover” Mike Bavuso, President of Big Foot Moving & Storage Inc. donated his crew and moving services to help deliver thousands of pies to customers and pie pick-up locations, in addition to selling 338 pies and raising $9,410 himself.
Since 1990, Community Servings has been providing free, home-delivered meals throughout 200 square miles of Massachusetts to the acutely ill battling 35 types of illnesses including HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Lupus, MS and Diabetes, their families and their caregivers. Community Servings’ founding goals are to help clients maintain their health and dignity, provide nutritionally and culturally appropriate meals, preserve the integrity of their family…and send the message that someone cares.
