Couples Golf Mission Statement
The Big Canoe Couples Golf group is about social gatherings that also include golf. Many of us have met our best Big Canoe friends through the couples golf program over the years and look forward to the monthly social opportunity. The couples group is seeking to expand the numbers of participating golfers in 2012 and welcome you to play alone or paired up. We aim to be as inclusive as possible!

sleeve of balls or half a pair of socks! Please refer to the schedule for dates. Seasonal Team Events
The couples golf group holds monthly nine hole mixers from March through October. The format of these events is usually a four ball scramble with a “catch”. The golf is NOT serious and might even be termed “hit and giggle” golf. Our main objective is to provide an atmosphere in which golfers of all skill levels and persuasion may relax and have a fun time with their golfing team mates. Your job is to register and play as many outings as possible. The Golf Shop will make the foursomes groupings in an equal opportunity manner. If you prefer to play with your other half, just note that on the sign up sheet. If you prefer not to play with your spouse, just sign up. If you are not paired, sign up anyway and we’ll work you into the pairings. Groups are normally geared to mix everyone up for maximum exposure to new friends.
Golf is followed by dinner in one of the club house event rooms where the fun continues and the money collected is divided up among the winners. A big Friday night win can generate enough Big Canoe bucks to buy a

These events are eighteen hole, make your own foursome, four ball events followed by a club house lunch. There are three of these events held in late spring, mid summer and early fall (see schedule for dates). Having fun is, once again, the main focus of these outings. Play with your favorite couple, mix it up and play with different couples each event, or invite outside couples or house guests to join you for these fun events. We encourage golfers of all levels to join in the fun. We attempt to format the outings in a way that gives every group an equal chance at winning. It’s really so much fun that everyone wins just by coming out, playing, and socializing. Couples Club Championship

ending event and is flighted to allow every couple a chance to win. We welcome your participation in all of our couples golf and social outings and hope that you will encourage others to join in the fun. We also welcome any suggestions that you may have for the improvement of our couples’ golf program. Details will be made available through the schedule (included here) and individual emails for each planned event. Mark your calendars now to participate in all of our planned couples events! 2012 Couples Golf Coordinators: Jim and Jackie Rice,
