I. foetidissima #SIR73 An iris grown for its spectacular seed pods that explode in late summer to reveal bright scarlet bead-like seeds. One of the most popu- lar of the rhizomatous beard-less iris, their informal beauty and adaptability making them ideal for a wide

I. Louisiana Louisiana Iris are native to south- ern swamplands, so wet situations suit them well. Their 3 to 8 inch blooms offer the greatest color range of any iris group, including the closest to true red in the entire genus. They are strong growers and will do well in beds and borders in soil that is fertile and rich in organic matter. They tend to runner or spread. Find them blooming in April on the Gulf Coast and June in the North.
