EUCOMIS Top Size “Pineapple Lily” This curious ornamental from South Africa will bloom frequently all season when the soil is left to dry after each blooming. The stem, about a foot tall, rises from a rosette of strap-like basal leaves and is densely clothed along the upper half with small, starry florets. A tuft of green foliage crowns the flower spike and gives it the appear- ance of a pineapple. Can be grown as a pot plant, or if planted outside, can be dug up in the fall and stored over winter. FERNS Bare Root Plants The graceful, ornamental foliage of hardy woodland ferns is especially valuable for shaded to partially shaded locations where oth- er plants may be difficult to grow. They provide lush cover with little care. Most prefer moist, highly organic, slightly acidic soil. A mulch will preserve the steady moisture supply they like.
