CORNUS CANADENSIS Size: 3 inch pots “Bunchberry” #SCC80
This fascinating groundcover is native to moist forests, bogs and stream banks from Green-
land and Alaska to the mountains of California and Virginia. A patch in bloom appears like a Flow- ering Dogwood shrub that has been buried to its outermost
twigs. The rhizomes creep by underground stolons, constantly sending up stems to form lovely dense patches. Each stem has 2 to 3 sets of overlapping, opposite leaves at its tip. From the center of this group emerges a small knot of yellow or green flowers in late spring to early summer surrounded by four white bracts. The flowers eventually develop into a bunch of striking scarlet berries, each containing a hard seed. Bunchberries thrive in moist, acidic soil and a cool location. CORYDALIS Size: 2½ inch pots (except where noted) “Fumewort”
This native of European and Asian woodlands is related to dutchman’s breeches and bleeding heart. Its masses of fern- like leaves and showy clusters of delicate flowers lend a graceful note to lightly shaded areas in rock gardens, along paths or slopes and in crev- ices on rock walls. The somewhat tubular flowers, rarely over 1 inch long, have a distinct spur that projects backward, and bloom in large clusters. They grow best in cool-season areas and may go summer dormant in hot tempera- tures. In warmer climates, plant in dense shade or near moving water.
C. elata #SCO90 Fragrant cobalt-blue flowers rival gentians for brilliance. Plants are quite heat-tolerant. 3 inch pots.

C. lutea #SCO93 Widely grown all over Europe, Yellow Coryda- lis can be found growing on crumbling castle walls and stone fences. It sports blue-green, deeply divided leaves and golden-yellow flowers that appear non-stop all summer. It can self-seed rather aggressively, an advantage in places that are too shady or rocky for just about anything else. [Ht: 12"-15", Bl: Summer, Zones: 5 to 7, SSH] Each 4.95 3 for 12.95 6 for 23.95
C. ochroleuca #SCO96 Similar to C. lutea, but flowers are white with yellow spots. Blooms continuously through the summer and tolerates drier conditions better than any other corydalis. Each 4.95 3 for 12.95 6 for 23.95
