CIH calls its suppliers to support the independent CIH awards suppliers that allow the members to make a profit
AT the annual suppliers lunch, held this year in the London Dorchester Hotel, Robin Millwood, CIH chairman, said: “In another consecutive poor year in retail, our turnover is only marginally down and this is with fewer members, but in a market place that in some areas is over 10% down. With more cost savings and streamlining, we have managed to reduce the members’ costs as well as maintaining profit in the company.” He also stressed:”The members will continue to support those suppliers where a reasonable retail margin can be maintained.” He also said that the group achieved very good results in the area of “IT & telecoms where Micro-P is showing a 600% increase and in small appliances, where

Hama (UK) has extended its audio accessories solution by partnering with Zound industries. Hama will become the sole UK distributor for its popular headphone ranges including Urban Ears, Coloud and Marshall Headphones.
Jual Furnishings is looking to sign-up independent electrical retailers, as part of its business growth plans. Jual Furnishings encourages customers to put a display model in-store and delivers products the next day. The company offers a no- minimum order quantity policy, which is backed up by next day delivery, on orders received before 3pm; and a full after sales service.
Orbitsound is currently the number one selling soundbar brand in the UK by sales and value, according to GfK. In October 2010, the company held a 10.4% share by volume of the GB market; a figure which more than doubled to 26.1% in October 2011.

Rangemaster who provided the members with “an enormous range in every colour under the sun” and increased its turnover with the group by 16%.
The Supplier of the Year
award was given to Siemens, a brand that has consistently supported CIH members, helping them to make a profit in a tough trading environment.
