NHD18 STAIR NOSING GENESIS APS INTERNATIONAL LTD
Genesis APS International Ltd’s NHD18 Stair Nosing is a 100% Aluminium channel with bespoke Aluminium insert in the tread for extreme foot traffic. Due to it being so well equipped for heavy foot traffic, it is currently being installed throughout Heathrow Terminal 5 and it has recently been used in renovations at Terminal 3 as well, to create a safe environment for employees and travellers.
The high level of traffic through the world’s fourth busiest airport meant that the profile Genesis installed had to be especially durable, while still providing the necessary safety properties. Working closely with BAA and the contracts team on the new Heathrow Terminal 5 complex, Genesis APS International Limited helped design and supply in excess of some 10,000 linear meters of this bespoke interior nosing, and are now proud to be associated with BAA as a preferred supplier of choice for their flooring accessory solutions throughout all airports managed by them.
The NHD18 bespoke design is part of the NHD Heavy Duty Nosing range from Genesis. Within the range are single and double channel variations which can be drilled, cut to length and supplied by the company to site anywhere in the UK. Hard-wearing infills are made from a formulated PVC compound with additives to offer maximum performance with
12 different colours to choose from. Genesis profiles are available worldwide, providing innovative solutions to the everyday problems encountered by contractors and specifiers.

The mat is made from 96% recycled materials, and helps prevent dirt and water being tracked into the building, thereby reducing the use of harmful and costly cleaning chemicals. The carpeted surface is spun from 100% post-consumer PET plastic bottles, while the all-rubber backing is recycled from used tyres, preventing landfill waste. The two-layer, heavyweight construction traps dirt and moisture, while the crumb-rubber provides a wear-resistant, non-slip backing. It can be easily cleaned by vacuum.
