CARPET CAPITAL ASSOCIATION
Carpet Capital Association (CCAR) held its 4th annual Membership Mixer. The mixer’s “tailgate party” theme was a huge success. All members were encouraged to represent their favorite team, with UGA having the most representation.
The Association’s Community Service Committee also held its annual auction to help raise money for three charities — Dalton Greater Works, Northwest Georgia Family Crisis Center, and Bags of Love. The canned foods that were donated by CCAR members were given to Dalton City of Refuge.
GOLDEN ISLES ASSOCIATION
GIAR received the Keep Brunswick Golden Isles Beautiful Proud Partner Award at the 15th Community Appreciation Breakfast on November 9, 2011. Pictured here is Marsha Smith, KBGIB Executive Director, and Angie Aimar, GIAR Community Relations Committee Chair.
NORTHEAST GEORGIA BOARD
The Northeast Georgia Board hosted their Fourth Annual “Grand Slam Get Down” Softball Tournament on October 14, 2011, in Towns County. The team named “MATCO” took home the top prize after playing from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. All proceeds were donated to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter located in Blairsville, Ga.
TROUP COUNTY
Community Service volunteers Bobby Knight, Lamar McKeen, Judy Thomason, Regenia Andrews and Michelle Thompson, Director of First Choice. The TCBOR collected baby items to help restock First Choice Women’s Center Baby Store. The Center encourages young women to keep their babies and each mother is required to go through counseling and take classes. Each session completed earns them Baby Bucks that they can use to purchase items in the store for their babies. Also, this is the first year that the clinic has offered medical resources, and they have a full time nurse on staff.
