This New Year of the Dragon, we celebrated with great fanfare – generating pretty high noise levels despite me being sick as a cow all through the first 13 days of the new
year until the lap chun came (on February 4th… to bring in the real new energy of the new year that cured me!) There we were however attending intimate dinners, having old friends over for evenings of music gathered around the grand piano, and Jennifer even throwing a big bash to celebrate the first full moon of the year… all motivated by
thoughts of rejoicing to generate happy yang chi with our friends. We even had the wonderful dragon and phoenix dancing in my garden, going around my prayer wheel and skillful prancing lions paying respect to our Buddhas
and also dancing on poles, indicating that we can easily overcome obstacles through the year…

e did many auspicious things this year… and a wonderful side
benefit of all this were the piles of auspicious oranges, wonderful sweet meats and great gifts that rolled into our homes, mine and Jennifer’s, for which we thank our many wonderful friends, associates and family. The one truly auspicious gift that I want to talk about this year is this pair of exquisitely carved rosewood vases that were presented to me by a very dear friend whose knowledge of Chinese
