Be sure to bring the fuel tubing lines out during all covering operations. After the stabilizer is installed, cardboard bulkheads, held with a single
centerline balsa stringer, are added to the top aft fuselage (below left). Scored and folded top decking piece glued over the aft cardboard formers. The fin has been installed with balsa fairings on each side which blend into the fuselage section for a smooth, flowing look (below right).
The tail gear strut is bent to shape from ³⁄₃₂-inch wire, laid on its ¹⁄₈-inch ply mounting plate, wrapped with nylon thread and smeared with glue and glued into the fuselage cutout (above left). The cowl is made from ½-inch balsa sheet

built up and carved to shape (above right). The removable cowl has a ¹⁄₈-inch ply back which attaches to blind nuts in the rear of the engine ply firewall. The top portion is glued to the ply firewall and the joint taped over.
