NEAT Fair 2011


Paul Weigand taxies his 121-inch Culver Dart(above left) back after another great flight. He scratchbuilt the plane over 20 years ago for a gas engine and then converted it to electric with an Axi 5345 motor and a Castle ICE 160 HV controller. Rich Perroni was back with his beautiful ¹⁄₃-scale Fokker D-VI (above right). It’s from a Glen Torrance kit and he put an Axi 5360 motor in it, then


finished it with linen and dope. Airfoilz lineup of their new Flat Foilz line (below left) of foam sport models that included the Edge 540, the Edge 300, the Lek- Trick, and the Stalker. Just about the largest plane at NEAT was Greg Covey’s 42% Ultimate (below right). It spanned 98 inches, and used a Turnigy CA120- 70 motor turning a 30–10 prop. Lynn Bowerman was on the sticks.


Dave Lockhart and Devin McGrath put on spectacular flight performances. Dave flew his Bravo (above left) in a beautiful pattern sequence. Devin

flew his 78-inch Extra 300 (above center) in a wild display of 3D aerobatics. Dave followed suit with his Sebart Sukhoi 50 (above right).
