THE school has qualified for a ‘high usage’ award in relation to SAM Learning, which provides online revision and learning opportunities for students at FPHS. Last year, our students revised for


more than 4,200 hours, using this site alone. No doubt, this has made a significant contribution to the year- on-year rise in our exam results. Improvements to the site and


resources have been well received by students, who can gain instant feedback and compete against their friends by collecting reward points.

Fantastic new facilities


THE ICT department was relocated to the former City Learning Centre in September. A dedicated team of technical staff worked hard during the summer to provide students and staff with the latest, state-of- the-art facilities and resources. The result is a further four ICT suites, which brings the total number in school to 15. The majority are open every day, so that students have the opportunity to take part in lunchtime and after-school study activities.

Positive link with our primary pupils


AS part of our extended primary liaison programme, we will be giving local primary pupils the opportunity to use our new ICT Block, as well as the expertise of our staff.


There will be a variety of fun, learning activities on offer, covering a wide range of topics including e-safety, multimedia, photo editing and graphic work.

CONGRATULATIONS to our IT Diploma students, who left FPHS this summer. Due to their hard work and determination, they achieved the best results in the Rochdale borough.


Has ‘IT’ covered: Sonia Hamied, Humza Iqbal, Robena Mahmmod and Halima Begum.


In addition, they all applied successfully to continue their studies at college, with most choosing to pursue their interest in ICT.
