N 175 A

Our sailaway celebrations will be even more elaborate on 3rd July 2012 when, for the fi rst time ever, the seven ships of the P&O Cruises fl eet will be together in Southampton in celebration of a very special milestone – the 175th anniversary of the formation of the Peninsular Steam Navigation Company. It promises to be a Grand Event as the ships, with their gleaming white hulls and signature ‘buff’ funnels will berth alongside at seven different points in the port of Southampton.

Leaving their berths on this historic day, the ship’s passengers and crew will enjoy a champagne deck party as the fl utterfetti fl ies; the marching band plays and the ships sail past in a procession from Southampton Water out into the Solent. It is here, out in the open water that the ships will meet again, saluting one another before they sail onwards to their various exciting destinations.

The lucky passengers travelling on board these Grand Event cruises will enjoy a variety of special ‘Grand Event’ features which begin with this spectacular sailaway party from Southampton and the procession of the fl eet through Southampton Water and, during the cruise there will be a special 175th gala dinner, a heritage art display, special speakers, commemorative gift, heritage presentations and the opportunity to win a full world cruise.

There’s sure to be a party atmosphere on land as well as on sea as the port of Southampton will no doubt be full of well wishers keen to share in this momentous occasion whether in the parks and quays that line the water or on yachts and pleasure boats sailing alongside.
