GoPro Hero2

THE CYCLING world’s love affair with video isn’t about to end soon, so it’s no surprise that the arrival of GoPro’s HD Hero2 has quickened the pulses of cycle video fans and caused a fair amount of internet buzz. Released to retail at the end of October, the HDs costs £299.99, but its arrival has seen the brand reduce the original HD Hero SKU price ranges to £199.99 through £249.99 (it was previously £264.99 to £299.99). Here comes the science: The HD Hero2’s new processor is twice as powerful, while a new 11

megapixel sensor delivers twice the details and is better in low-light too. What’s more, it’s wi-fi-ready too, which is

handy as GoPro’s wi-fi BacPac and wi-fi Remote products are set to be released soon. According to GoPro, the new Hero is much easier to use than the original. If you know how to use a traditional camera, you’ll be able to use the HD Hero2 straight out of the box, the brand adds.

Madison carries the brand exclusively for various action sports markets in the UK.

Uvex Crow Pro sunglasses

DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY for the sports market, Uvex sunglasses use lenses that are made of ‘high-tech material’ Makrolon, which provides optimum protection for the eyes and are extremely lightweight. According to Uvex they are virtually

unbreakable and do not splinter even in a severe fall or collision. It’s no surprise to hear that they are similarly unaffected by wind and weather, with the lense carrying built-in UV protection shielding an athlete’s eyes from harmful radiation.

01773 532600 The Crow Pro range come with three

interchangeable lenses to suit varying light conditions, with an anti-scratch coating and anti- glare vision. The glasses also feature an ingenious ventilation system to prevent fogging, even during extreme huffing and puffing up hills. The soft nose and temple pads provide

comfort and the wrap-around design minimises pressure and movement. Raleigh supplies Uvex to the UK market and a

set of these will dent a customers wallet to the tune of £79.99 RRP.

3E Electric City Light Mark II

FRESH FROM its showing at the NEC Cycle Show, 3E’s electric bike range includes the latest version of the City Light – the Mark II, no less. In under the cycle to work bracket at £899 RRP, the Mark II has a pedal assist range of up to 40 miles and a throttle range of up to 20 miles. The charging time is four to six hours for the Lithium-Ion battery, which boasts 2,000 charging cycles according to 3E. The battery is guaranteed for two years and the City Light Mk II uses a clever battery chemistry to provide a high

output current and high number of re-charge cycles.

Like all of the range, the long-lasting central motor is discreetly mounted behind the seat tube and linked to a responsive torque sensor, which continually measures pedal power. The bike itself uses a modular connection, which the firm introduced last year. In a nutshell, that means the bike is simple to use and maintain with a plug-and-play design.
