Core Workout
The New Year is the peak time for people to start new exercise regimes, but bike dealers will be getting their own workouts just by making their way around the rapidly expanding Core Bike show. Jonathon Harker takes you through the January show…

THE SCOTTISH distributor will be bringing a new brand signing to Core this year – POC. A key product from the brand is the Trabec helmet, designed to offer the highest possible degree of protection without compromising functionality or performance. Retailing at £140, the helmet has an Aramid filament reinforced EPS core that is tough and resilient, while the outer PC shell is optimised with, crucially, no seams at the most exposed areas. An aerodynamic channel system and 16 vent holes keep riders aerated and the Trabec fits more like a skateboard helmet than a traditional helmet – on top rather than around the head. It comes in an array of bright POC colours. Ibis’ anticipated Mojo SL-R will make its UK debut at Core Bike. Described as phenomenally light, the Mojo SL-R is a stiff trail bike made with special moulding technology. The tapered steerer, BB92 Bottom Bracket and a 142 Maxle rear axle, combined with the new moulding, helped build a stiffer, stronger and lighter bike. All in, it weighs 2250g for a large frame with a Kashima RP23 shock. Retail
