DSEi showcases UK defence and security UKTI DSO coordinated
UK TRADE & INVESTMENT’S Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) led a series of programmes for UK Ministers, senior offi cials and overseas delegations at the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEi) 2011 event, held in September.

promoted the theme of ‘Our Partnership, Your Solution’ in the Defence and Security sectors in a new and innovative way.
Its centrepiece, a Capability Showcase, promoted UK plc as the partner of choice for defence and security solutions. VIP visitors, delegates and senior offi cials were guided through the showcase stand. They each received a customised briefi ng from DSO military offi cers on the equipments displayed, some in service with UK Armed Forces, and others that have a signifi cant potential for export.
Minister launches Export for Growth
A NEW DRIVE to help Britain’s businesses boost their export sales and to help non- exporters enter export markets for the fi rst time launches this month at the SMEs Exporting and Growth event in London. Trade and Investment Minister Lord
Green will launch a national campaign to highlight the valuable role professionals and organisations closest to UK fi rms can have in encouraging them to pursue growth through exports. The inaugural business event, which
takes place in the lead up to Global Enterprise Week, will see more than 400 people attend the event at BFI Imax on 10 November from banks, accountancy and legal fi rms, trade networks such as Alibaba and Entrepreneur Country and representatives from key trade bodies and devolved administrations. These groups have a unique ability to
infl uence the companies they work with, many of them potential exporters, and can act as powerful “multipliers” when it comes to helping boost UK export growth. Lord Green, Minister for Trade and
