can be a daunting experience, but RAS has specially trained immigration experts on hand to help people make the relocation to Scotland as smoothly as possible. This free advice covers visas


and immigration matters and is available to both foreign students and people coming to work in Scotland. You’ll need to know about


the Points Based System which the UK Border Agency uses to decide if you’re eligible to live and work/study here. RAS can look at your qualifications and work experience to help assess

Although it is not a


recruitment agency, RAS can also give you advice on how to look for work in Scotland. However, one of your first steps to finding a job should be to log on to the TalentScotland website for a wide range of vacancies in electronics and software, life sciences, energy and financial services. The TalentScotland website


also contains a wealth of information on immigration matters which may answer some of your initial questions. It provides advice on


preparing to move to Scotland, what documents you need to bring and what you should do when you arrive. And there’s lots


of information about living in Scotland, such as practical help and advice on how to find a place to live, opening a bank account or how to find suitable schools for your children. SCOTLAND’S SALTIRE SCHOLARSHIP


For international students from Canada, China, India and the USA looking to study post-graduate courses in Scotland, there are up to 200 Saltire Scholarships available. The scholarships,


each worth £2,000 towards the tuition fees of a one-year Masters course, are available for students undertaking research in the following sectors: creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy.
