INDUSTRY WELCOMES KICKSTART TALENT


As well as KickStart launching the careers of ten promising new designers, for the first time we introduced the Stylesight Trend Award. Top trend forecasting agency Stylesight presented a special award to IJL KickStart designer Claire English (pictured on the right). The Stylesight team visited IJL and selected the winning designer for her excellence in progressive jewellery design.


The prize is a year’s subscription to the innovative trend service, worth $7,500 USD.


Judge Claire Foster, (pictured above on the left) Accessories Editor of Stylesight said “I am delighted to award Claire English with the first Stylesight Trend Award. I was impressed by the depth of her concepts and research behind her collection, which I can see appealing to buyers and consumers on a number of levels, and reflect a number of emerging trends for jewellery, from materials to themes.”

The Bright Young Gems for 2011 were unveiled at the show and these future industry stars really did shine. They have stunning pieces and collections, and were nominated by a prestigious panel of leading editors and industry gurus.
