As the time has come for the launch of ‘Think Big and Make a Difference’, my thoughts turn not to the past and the
experiences that led to writing the book, instead I’m looking to the future. I believe that innovation is crucial for a business to thrive and grow, particularly in challenging times, whatever line of industry you are in. It has always been so at CPD, where growth and success have often resulted from approaching something from a different angle, or using imagination to create a new service or product.

Some may say that what we do here at CPD and Green Planet Solutions isn’t particularly exciting or glamorous, so how then can we continuously innovate? I would respond that we are passionate about what we offer our customers and this is what inspires us to always look at new improved products or services. Or perhaps we are just all secret ‘mad’ inventors at heart here!
At Green Planet Solutions, we have just
launched Inventors’ Corner, which will support innovators in our industry, particularly those with environmentally-friendly projects, to develop new ideas and potentially turn them into a production reality. By nature, inventors are entrepreneurial in spirit, however don’t always have the experience to turn ideas into
commercial reality. That is where we come in. We have launched a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style competitive element to Inventors’ Corner, where a panel of judges will choose a winning invention and support the inventor to bring it into production. I have always been a ‘green’ advocate myself and embrace innovation. I like the challenge of thinking up new ideas and solutions to sometimes everyday problems or opportunities.
