Mark said: “Without help from The Prince’s Trust we would never have become the business we are today. It provided not only the money but also help from really experienced advisors who showed us how to invoice and manage our paperwork. Once we were operational The Trust kept in constant contact.”
To illustrate their appreciation for the Trust’s support, the brothers set up their own business centre for unemployed people by restoring an old warehouse, which today provides subsidised workspace for 20-30 new businesses and business mentoring.

When Mark and Graham Wray started their workplace wiper business in 1984 with a £3,000 backing from The Prince’s Trust, little did they imagine that 27 years later they would be receiving recognition from The Trust’s Patron, H.R.H Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.
Mark, aged 23, and his brother Graham, 21, set up their business in Toxteth, Liverpool just after
the riots when jobs were very scarce. They bought clothes from charity shops and turned them into wiping cloths for engineering works and garages. Vax Commercial is launching a new range of compact floorcare appliances, starting with the VCC-02 bagged vacuum cleaner. This new and improved edition of Vax Commercial’s popular tub vacuum cleaner has all the versatility, durability and power that you would expect from the UK’s best selling floorcare brand.
The new VCC-02 is built to last using high quality, commercial grade components. It’s ideal for use in the toughest of working environments, with a robust, no-nonsense design. The 1250 watt motor provides
outstanding suction power on carpets and hard floors, while the large 10-litre dust capacity means you can get on with the job without stopping.
This powerful bagged vacuum has HEPA filtration to help remove dust, pollen and other allergens and an eco power saving switch, so you can adjust the power output. As well as encouraging energy saving, this setting lets you reduce the suction level so you can safely vacuum cushions, curtains and other delicate surfaces. Its 10-metre long, high visibility
cable gives you plenty of cleaning reach too. This easy change power cable has a kettle connection and wraps neatly around the top of the tub for quick storage. Sturdy side clips give you quick, convenient access to the dust bag and filter.
More new products will be added to the range throughout 2012, supported by product training programmes and demos, hosted by the new Vax Commercial sales team.
