Prime Play: creating active family attractions

Canadian play systems group Prime Play continues to grow from strength to strength

AS a world leader in the design and manufacture of active play systems, Prime Play brings a world of imagination to the out-of-home leisure industry. Established in 1993, Prime Play is dedicated to creating active attractions that are fun for the entire family. The company’s markets include FECs, family

adventure parks, amusement parks, hotels and resorts, shopping malls, restaurants, fitness clubs, bowling centres and other family- friendly facilities. Richmond, Canada-based Prime Play’s

philosophy comes from understanding the relationship between operators and the families that will be playing, crawling, rolling, jumping, sliding on and exploring adventures in a wide range of leisure facilities. Prime Play was the first company to think

out of the box by offering giant 34 inch tubes, allowing for 20 per cent more play area than industry standard tubes. Parents can easily participate and interact with their children, creating an experience that is more enjoyable for the entire family. In 2001, WhiteWater West Industries, the

fellow Canadian company which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, acquired Prime Play. WhiteWater has over 450 employees worldwide and is a vertically integrated supplier of the most successful waterpark attractions in the world. Recently named as Best Family Resort by

the Australian government, SeaWorld Gold Coast debuted Prime Play’s premier Family Adventure Park (FAP) in Castaway Bay in late 2010. Castaway Bay’s FAP integrates various play systems together creating a unique and memorable family adventure. The fun escalates with the Adventure Trail, where guests can climb and explore the rest of the park high above the ground with Sky

Fortress. Meanwhile, others may decide to take the adventure to the next level with Sky Climb, Prime Play’s Sky Trail ropes course. Sky Climb allows guests to challenge themselves by traversing through a gripping ropes course 12m above the ground. Featuring large capacity and throughput, the

Family Adventure Park concept engages a wide demographic and encourages safe, active family attractions that bring out the child in everyone. Combining various components of the Family Adventure Park also provides additional revenue generation through attendance, increased length of stay and increased food and beverage.
