Record number of exhibitors at EAS 2011


LONDON’S Olympia exhibition centre will play host to Europe’s largest conference and trade show for the attractions industry this month, when the Euro Attractions Show arrives at the venue


TO be held from September 27 to 29, Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2011 has secured more than 330 exhibitors from 60 countries, with more than 8,000 visitors from 80 countries expected to visit over the three days. Visitors will find the latest


products and professional services for theme and amusement parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, family entertainment centres, museums, carnivals, attractions, shopping centres, casinos, resorts, arcades,


golf and concert facilities, all under one roof at the event. The cutting-edge products and transformational services featured will include roller coasters, children’s rides, waterslides, special effects, ticketing and admission systems, 3D movies, motion simulators, action photography, games, consultancy and design services and theatrical show effects and stage productions. “With the largest show floor in the history of EAS,


the extensive education programme, the many tours and unique special events, EAS is the must-attend event for anyone involved in the attractions industry,” commented Mats Wedin, chairman of the IAAPA European Advisory Committee. Ticketing and access control system giant OmniTicket


Network will be exhibiting at the show. According to the company, highlighted technology will include the Overview ticketing and access control solution, a unique onsite technology for managing all types of venues in a multi-tier environment with a built-in infrastructure for offering worldwide ticket distribution in real-time. “Our clients are looking for innovative ways to sell more tickets while cutting back on costs,” said John Davies, director of UK operations for OmniTicket. “Our solutions effectively help our clients successfully reach those two critical objectives.” UK-based licensed costume character specialist Rainbow


Productions will also maintain a strong presence at the show. 2011 has seen the company acquire a number of

new licensed children’s characters, expanding the range of characters officially supplied to the leisure attractions industry for personal appearances and non-ticketed shows. New licensed children’s characters joining the company’s


portfolio - and already being booked as part of events programmes within parks and attractions - include Captain Barnacles from television show The Octonauts; Raa Raa the Noisy Lion; Little Charley Bear; Scratchy and Zoomer from the Rastamouse Easy Crew; and Driver Dan from Driver Dan’s Story Train.
