Page Europa, a General Dynamics UK Company, in partnership with local Abu Dhabi group GIS-Al Jaber, has received a contract from the Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) to provide the Port Special Systems (PSS) for Phase 1 of the Khalifa Port & Industrial Zone (KPIZ) development in the United Arab Emirates.


The initial PSS project, worth $95.2m, includes the design, procurement, integration and installation of telecommunications, security and control systems for both the onshore and offshore areas of the new Khalifa Port.


Strategically located between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Khalifa Port is designed as a multi-purpose facility and will be one of the largest container and industrial ports in the world. It is part of a multibillion dollar site of critical national infrastructure


> Success in the North Sea


Page Europa, a General Dynamics UK Company, has been selected by Worley Parsons, the Australian technical, project and operational support services Company, to provide a telecoms solution for the Jasmine Area Development project in the North Sea.


The Jasmine project, which is being developed to exploit natural gas condensate, involves the construction of a new wellhead and


accommodation and utility platforms that will be linked back to the existing Judy production platform.


The Page Europa telecoms solution will provide a radio communications network along with CCTV, Public Address and General Alerts (PAGA), collision detection, meteorological and entertainment subsystems. It will be fitted to both the existing Judy platform and the new Jasmine development.

> Specialist Vehicle visit


Brigadier Mark Milligan recently made the first official MoD visit to the General Dynamics European Land Systems (GD ELS) manufacturing facility in Seville since the signing of the Specialist Vehicle (SV) contract.


The Brigadier requested the visit in order to meet key personnel responsible for delivering the SV vehicle and to get a feel for the capabilities General Dynamics has available. After receiving a briefing from the General Dynamics team, the Brigadier was taken on a facility tour which included vehicle prototype workshops, the SV manufacturing area, and a multi-million pound anechoic chamber (the largest in Europe) where EMC testing is currently conducted on the Leopard tank.
