Faraway places are premier

for money right now of any long haul destination, which is why we have included a new platinum hotel in Krabi and four new hotels in Bangkok,” said David Carlaw, Premier’s head of Faraway Product. Forward bookings for Thailand in 2012 are up 46 per cent, year on year, he added. Another Asian destination whose star


is on the rise is Indo-China. Carlaw said sales of the three-centre option of Cambodia (with Angkor Wat on everyone’s list), Vietnam and Laos were up 32 per cent. Bookings will be further boosted when Vietnam Airlines starts non-stop flights between London and Hanoi and Saigon this month (Sept). The two new tours in Tanzania are ‘Highlights of Tanzania’, with a three-night tour of Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara, from £785 and ‘Tanzania Discovery’, six nights in Lake Mantara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Arusha, for £1,169pp. Both packages include three- star accommodation throughout the trip.
