Agents on a sales mission

Did our agents' fam trip to the North West Province result in some early sales and increased commission earnings? A couple of months after their return, we asked: What Happened Next?

“I’ve sold three NWP holidays and have more bookings pending” “I am pleased to say that since my trip I've sold three separate trips to the North West Province.

I booked clients to Madikwe and Sun City and currently have a few ‘quotations pending’. "As a company we are now actively selling both, especially Madikwe as it provides a truly wonderful experience! "Also, since my trip our new website

has gone up and we have a section giving details on all the different hotels and lodges we sell. "We also feature our current ‘top properties’ and both Ivory Tree Lodge

and Cascades Sun City are featured." Melissa Kirby, 2by2holidays

“I have had some early successes in selling the North West Province” "Johannesburg is usually the entry or departure point of a twin-centre holiday featuring South

Africa and other destinations such as Seychelles or Mauritius. I have ‘switch

sold’ a four-day safari in Madikwe to a customer who was thinking of going to Mauritius, in the process saving the customer an extra flight. "I had a customer wanting to do a

safari out of Johannesburg but who didn’t want to deal with taking malaria preventatives. His wife and kids were not keen on the safari idea. My solution? The family is off to Sun City where every member will be able to do the activity they want – including a safari for the dad in Pilanesberg. "Finally, I had a client who wanted to

stop a few days in the Johannesburg area but was not so keen on staying in the city itself. The answer was to suggest four days at Ivory Lodge in

Pilanesberg." Alfredo Benedicto, a la Carte Travel

“I’m now recommending the North West Province with gusto” “Aside from Sun City, clients’ knowledge of the region is pretty sketchy – but that’s where I can

now come in. I am probably boring everybody to death with my stories

about the lodges, school visit, walking safari, zip wire, elephant feeding, and having my room burgled by baboons! "I will use this fam trip supplement to spread awareness of the destination. We are building a new website that will feature sample holidays – and the products and experiences I enjoyed in the North West Province will be included as a recommendation for families and couples. "Lots of my clients are now thinking about the North West Province and I

anticipate lots of bookings for 2012.” Roger Benn, Benchmark Travel

“I’m hoping my new-found passion for the region will lead to lots of bookings” “I am actively suggesting the North West Province to clients as an alternative to the usual South Africa

itinerary, particularly if I think the clients are looking for something a bit different. “My trip gave me a real passion for the destination, which I'm confident will

result in lots of bookings to the region." Sarah Louise Bridges, Miles Morgan Travel

“As alternates to Kruger I’m selling Madikwe and Pilanesberg” “The trip was one I won't ever forget and I feel very passionate about promoting the North

West Province. I have been recommending it to clients whenever it has been appropriate to do so. In Madikwe and Pilanesberg I now have alternatives to the standard Kruger tours. I have yet to make a booking, but South Africa is pretty quiet in general

for me at present.” Katrina Angel, Travel Counsellor

“Bookings for North West Province will materialise in due course” “After my trip I gave another Travel Counsellor my recommendations for non-malarial game

reserves and she subsequently booked her clients to Madikwe. I also wrote a travel article for my local parish magazine which featured Madikwe and Sun City and I received plenty of

comments from clients who read it." Heidi Kemsley, Travel Counsellor
