YOU WILL NEED: 1 hairband, kirby grips, fixing spray, wide barrel tongs and a pretty clip or brooch.
❖ Part hair so that it falls into a side parting. ❖ Brush hair into a low side ponytail and secure with a hairband. ❖ Tong random tresses into large curls – as many as you have time for. ❖ Lightly backcomb the curls to create the volume of chignon you’d like. ❖ Randomly loop and pin tresses into the base of the ponytail until it’s all secure. ❖ Spray with fixing spray, add a twinkly clip or brooch and hey presto – a sophisticated evening look.

Top tip… This look works best on hair that isn’t freshly washed – if
your hair is super silky, use Tigi Catwalk Session Series Transforming dry shampoo (£12.95) – it instantly refreshes day-old hair and gives the texture needed to create the perfect updo.
Got short hair?
You can still recreate both looks with some clip-in hair extensions. We love this box of 12 individual 45cm (18in) extensions in a range of colours, £45, from Salon Confidential.
