enelec Standards Inspections Ltd were selected to manage and carryout


Electrical & Instrument BS EN 60079-17 inspection programmes to ‘Close’ and ‘Detailed’ grades of Inspection utilising its electronic steering vehicle of ecom instruments i.roc 621 hand-held inspection PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant) along with specially developed software which enables extreme efficiency in reporting results back to client engineers for analysis. The contract incorporates managing


activities for planned preventative maintenance, planning gap analysis, safety investigation of incidents, defect reporting, reliability reporting, root cause analysis of consistent failures, recommendations to root cause analysis, obsolescence notification reports and recommendations for cost reductions. The project includes maintaining all instrumentation,


fire and gas, lighting, public address systems, heat tracing, small power, function testing of emergency lighting systems at six month intervals and bulk re-lamping programmes are planned and monitored. The project is driving towards DSEAR Compliance


Accreditation for Inspection and Maintenance endorsed by UKAS for Quality systems to ISO9001-2008 accreditation which will enable the Easington Terminal as well as the Rough Fields Alpha and Bravo to achieve leading status for

Subsea cables transmit hydraulic and injection fluids C


able manufacturer Tratos will be exhibiting at this year’s SPE Offshore Europe 2011 Oil and Gas


Conference and Exhibition (6-8th September) in Aberdeen where its subsea umbilical cables will take centre stage. SPE Offshore Europe attracts thousands of


professionals in the upstream industry - including engineers, technical specialists, industry leaders and experts - providing them with the opportunity to engage suppliers face-to-face. Tratos, whose primary market is the oil and gas


industry, is looking to impress such visitors to the show with its extensive range of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electrical umbilical cabling for subsea oil and gas extraction and Oil&Gas BS6883 cables.The Tratos subsea cable range allows for hydraulic and injection fluids to be transmitted, as well as power and data, depending on the


cable type. They are suited for installation at depths up to 2000 metres, with select umbilicals qualified for depths of 3000 metres. The bespoke subsea umbilical cables are


manufactured in alliance with Brazilian cable manufacturer MFX. Tratos produce the internal signalling and power, while MFX manufacture the tubes and assemble the finish product. The result is an integrated system that produces exceptional quality cabling which other manufacturers are unable to guarantee as they outsource key components. Tratos Oil&Gas BS6883 low and medium voltage


and instrumentation cables will also be on display. The range is available options including reduced halogen and halogen free, fire resistant up to 950°C, armoured and unarmoured and individually or collectively screened.


All Tratos offshore cables have been tested


extensively both in laboratory trials and actual installations and have proven to be exceptionally reliable. They can be produced to a very wide range of standards including UK standard BS6883, Norwegian standard NEK 606, Eni Italian standard and also to bespoke customer requirements The product range includes single and multi


conductor high temperature, fire resistant, low smoke and fume, rubber, energy cables from low voltages up to 132kV, railway, motorway, data, fibre optic, oil and gas, shipwiring, drum reeling and telecommunications. As well as cathodic protection, composite and bespoke cables. The company’s testing facilities which include the


standard test for voltage, spark test and resistance as well as more in depth tests for elongation, heat shock, shrink back and vertical flame tests.
