Mark has been the Director of Operations for Jay Hawk Air in Anchorage Alaska. He was initially hired at Jay Hawk as a pilot and check airmen for Jay Hawk, an FAA approved 135 helicopter charter company. In this position he was responsible for piloting the company’s R44 helicopters throughout Alaska on various local and remote jobs. Additionally, he was responsible for training and testing the other pilots at Jay Hawk, and any new pilots coming to the company. This included training and testing on all the required FAA elements for Part 135 pilots.


After six months with the company became responsibility for the maintenance and repair of all the aircraft. This includes performing routine maintenance, required 100 hour and annual inspections, and all related required documentation. Although not specifically assigned, I performed all the duties of the companies Director of Maintenance.


In addition to the above, he has also been responsible for maintaining and updating the companies required Operations Manual, and Flight Training Manual. This area also includes being the pri- mary interface contact with the Federal Aviation Administration’s assigned inspectors.


Previously, Mark was Battalion Chief of Training for the Anchor- age Fire Department Training Division under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Training. This included daily administration of all fire, emergency medical service, and technical rescue training pro- grams.


Mark has also been the Fire Training Administrator responsible


for the administration of the State of Alaska Fire Service Training Program, including statewide Firefighter Train- ing, Certification, and Fire Depart- ment Registration. This administration includes full budget development and control, grants administration, curricu- lum development, interagency liaison, and staff supervision. This position provided supervision of Fire Training Specialists in Fairbanks, Juneau, and Anchorage, and the section Adminis- trative Clerk in Anchorage.
