Foundation News by Ted Roche EATON ELECTED FOUNDATION PRESIDENT


Brian Eaton has been elected President of the United States Synchronized Swimming Foundation, succeeding Gary Knowles, who retired from the position last fall.


Brian’s first experience with Synchro began when he joined the staff of USA Synchro as Media Relations Director in 1997. Since leaving USA Synchro, he has held positions with USA Gymnastics and in the private sector, and was general manager of the curling venue and competition for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, BC. Brian’s wife, Lori, is head synchro coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. He has previously been a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees as Private Sector member.


FOUNDATION TRUSTEES WELCOME TWO NEW ASSOCIATES


PRIVATE-SECTOR REPRESENTATIVE MICHAEL HART


Michael Hart, our new private-sector representative, is a Nashville, TN, based business executive with experience in leadership roles in technology companies. He brings the Board of Trustees marketing and fund development expertise in both profit and non-profit arenas. He holds BA and MA degrees from California State – Chico, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD from the University of Utah.


Kaycee Wiita is a nonprofit management consultant with over 25 years of experience specializing in fundraising, organizational structure, marketing and public relations. Over the past five years, Ms. Wiita has helped raised over $60 million for organizations through capital campaigns, events and appeals. She has been instrumental in reshaping boards to meet the changing needs of organizations and has helped organizations meet their marketing and public relations goals.


Currently, Kaycee is the Vice-Chair of the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington, Vice-President of PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center Foundation and the Trustee Chair of the Catlin Gabel School Board of Trustees. She is a former President of the Junior League of Portland, OR and former board member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, the overall governing Board for Junior Leagues worldwide.


Kaycee is the Technical/Scoring Chair for the Oregon Association of Synchronized Swimming, Treasurer for MAC Synchro Boosters and the West Zone Nominating Chair.

KAYCEE WIITA TRUSTEE


Kay Davies continues as the USA Synchro Foundation Secretary / Treasurer, in which capacity she has served the Foundation since 1994. Also continuing in their service are Judy McGowan, Barbara McNamee, Karen Rosolowski, Jeanne Struck and Carol Valles.


Judy, who was President of the USA Synchro board that created the Foundation, has served as a Trustee since 2002. Barbara is the longest-serving Trustee, having first joined the Foundation board in 1991. Karen, former USA Synchro Treasurer, has been a Foundation Trustee since 2004; while Jeanne joined the board of Trustees since 2001. Carol served as founding co-chair of the Founders Society campaign that has significantly increased the Foundation corpus.
