WHAT’S NEW
Laminate film enhances graphics
A new over laminate film from Amari Digital Supplies will provide a fresh visual dimension and add a softer touch to internally displayed graphics as well as flat surfaces featured in interior design and decoration
applications. Called MACtac Permafun Peach Skin, the laminate comprises a
600-micron (film and adhesive) semi-transparent and cadmium-free polymeric face film, a high-tack permanent clear and UV-stable adhesive and clay-coated white paper liner.
When used in combination with either the MACtac MACal 9800 Pro or MACtac JT5900 series of films, the laminate imparts an incomparable soft touch and peach-like texture and appearance to graphics generated using a choice of digital printing processes (including solvent, eco-solvent, WB and UV). It meets all of the relevant performance standards in terms of dimensional stability and flammability and offers a five year durability. The laminate is designed for high-profile internal applications and can be used to create individualistic special effects to enhance and add value to printed graphics and flat surfaces (including glass and aluminium) in prestigious locations like hotels, restaurants and commercial premises.

Canon UK has launched the 17 inch imagePROGRAF iPF510 large format printer as an upgrade to the successful imagePROGRAF LP17. In response to customer demand, the new printer now supports HP- GL/2 and HP-RTL, which will appeal to the CAD (Computer Aided Design) and GIS (Geographic Information System) markets. Additionally, the imagePROGRAF iPF510 is now compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System (32 Bit and 64 Bit) and Apple Macintosh OSX Operating System.
With elasticity and flexibility being the key and an essential part of today’s graphic, industrial and packaging applications, Roland DG (UK) has announced a new formulation of UV-curable ink which is designed for use in the company’s innovative VersaUV family of printers. Ideal for increasing the potential generated from its LEC-330, LEC-540, LEC-300 and recently launched roll to roll and flat-bed wide format solution, the LEJ-640, the Roland Eco-UV S represents the next generation of chemistry which extends the capabilities of these platforms and their LED curing technology.
The extra elasticity incorporated into the tough and durable Eco-UV S inks enables prints to be stretched and extended up to 220%, and this brings new output opportunities to users of Roland’s VersaUV platforms across all industry segments.
The innovative chemistry enables effective and reliable production of prototypes where shrink films and packaging materials are required, and its moulding capabilities are perfect for adhering to the contours of PET bottles, plastic cups, thermoformed and vacuum formed products, plus three-dimensional signs and displays, industrial items and novelties for interior décor.
