Realistic Lesson for Teen Drivers St. Joseph’s Hospital staff helped teach teens important lessons about the consequences of drinking and driving April 28 when they participated in the Every 15 Minutes mock crash program sponsored by the Washington County Injury Prevention Coalition at West Bend High Schools.
Emergency Care Center staff and EMS treat a mock crash victim as part of the anti-drunk driving program for teens.
A realistic mock crash scene was set up near the high schools with students playing the roles of dead and injured teens; they were then transported by local emergency crews and Flight For Life to St. Joseph’s Emergency Care Center. Doctors and nurses rushed
to provide tests and treatments, just as they would do in a real emergency. All the events were filmed by students and shown at an assembly the next day. Tis is the fifth time St. Joseph’s has been involved in the program.
