MI PEOPLE APPOINTMENTS JULY 2011
New Monacor MD, rep leaves SVM
UK sales and marketing manager takes the reins at audio firm, while percussion supplier Soar Valley says goodbye to popular sales rep..
Neil Clayton | has moved up to become managing director of German audio specialist Monacor. Clayton was previously UK marketing manager of the firm on joining in 2005, before becoming UK sales and marketing manager in 2009. “I have worked very closely with the three previous managing directors and been responsible for several key developments within the company, including the introduction of a new dealer friendly website,” said Clayton. “Monacor UK has always been viewed as something of a sleeping giant with massive potential which, given the right direction, can start to make an impact within the industry. Through increased sales and marketing activities I intend to increase our market share and customer base and give customers a genuine alternative to the mainstream sources.”
Soar Valley Music |said goodbye to Martin Tabraham, who has represented the company on the road for the last 14 years. His gentle professionalism made him much loved by the trade, who also appreciated his skill as a multi- instrumentalist, helped greatly in introducing many of the lesser-known instruments in store. Tabraham said: “Working for SVM has
been one of the best experiences of my working life, due in no small part to 'my' customers who have shown me kindness, hospitality, and often responded to my non-aggressive sales 'technique' by placing orders. I would like to thank you all very much and will see some of you again in my new role as a customer.
G7th |The Capo Company, has appointed Séamus Brady as its new head of marketing and artist relations. A familiar name to many acoustic players, Séamus has staffed, run and owned specialist guitar stores since the early 1980s, in addition to writing numerous articles and features for the UK guitar press. Brady commented: “Playing styles and techniques have obviously progressed in
the last few years, while traditional players have become increasingly discerning. The leap forward in capo design that started with the Performance Capo mirrors this – it’s an exciting time to be working with G7th and such great and diverse artists.”
