Drake’s brightens up the midweek Ripley’s Michelin-starred Drake’s restaurant is now open for lunch on Wednesdays.
The set menu – just £30 for three courses and wine – is known for its incredible value and in summer, it includes dishes such as red mullet with asparagus, saff ron, cumin and lemongrass. Chef-proprietor Steve Drake told Grub: ‘We have responded to customer demand – and bookings show it was a popular decision!’
Michelin date moved back
Michelin has brought forward the publication of its 2012 guide to Great Britain & Ireland. The guide to the best restaurants is
traditionally published in late January, but will be released in October this year. The date change will bring Michelin in line with most of their competitors, including Harden’s and the AA Restaurant Guide.
High teas The old tea rooms at stately home Loseley Park, Guildford, have been replaced
by a new restaurant run by the Elizabethan manor’s award-winning wedding caterer JMK. The Wisteria Restaurant uses local and organic produce and is open until 31 August for lunch and high tea. For bookings, call 01483 452535.
Sheep help special needs adults Sheep are lambing and sows are about to farrow at Harewoods Home Farm in
Outwood, where Eric and Andrea Wise have some new helpers. The Care Farming programme lets adults with special needs gain personal development through hands-on work with animals. They’ve been helping with the lambing and loving it.
Sweet news for bee fans Attention honey lovers! Reigate Beekeepers Association has established a new

New cookery school Kevin Hooper, a Master Chef of Great Britain, has opened
