Iconic Hilltop Singapore’s Jewel In
A
t 106m above sea level, Mount Faber is Singapore’s third highest hill, which is now a popular tourist attraction. Te hill, originally known as Telok Blangah Hill, was renamed Mount Faber in July 1845. Te
first cableway system – linking Mount Faber and Sentosa Island - was built in 1974. In the olden days, this was a popular haunt for young lovers with its serene, panoramic view of the surrounding harbor. The management decided to carry out massive
refurbishment and renovation works to have a complete “makeover” of this modest cable car station. Tis place was really “aging” and works to transform the place into a fresh Yang vibrant tourist attraction was critical to successfully bringing the “zest” back into this iconic location. It was a challenging task due to its location on a hill, and also because there were many old lustrous trees that had to be preserved amidst all the changes. When we worked on this project, we concluded that the analysis should remain Period 7 with a South 2 facing direction. Te original building was preserved and the extension building maintained the original trees and landscaping. Moreover, the entire construction was mainly of wood structure with minimal use of concrete. As such, the refurbishment will not change the period of the building but will completely re-energize the energy of the building. In this context, it is still considered auspicious, as all
Period 7 South 2 facing properties enjoy the “sum of ten” (combination of mountain and period stars adding up to 10 in every sector) in its Natal Chart. Such auspicious combinations do not happen very often, as they bring

good health, mentor luck, good relationships and an abundance of good business. In addition, the auspicious Water Star 8 is located
in the Southwest, whilst the auspicious Mountain star is in the South. Tis means that two auspicious stars are located in the front facing the sea – bringing lots of good fortune and prosperity to the building and its occupants. Moreover, the premise is surrounded with hills at the back and overlooking the sea at the front, this is indeed good Landscape Feng Shui formation. Te flow of the water feature was corrected from
flowing outwards to flowing inwards towards the building. Water that flows outwards from a property signifies “wealth flowing away”. Te speed of the water was also reduced as before it was flowing down too fast and too harsh – signifying “wealth flowing away too quickly”, which is not good for business. We recommended installing a 6 or 8-tier fountain with water falling gently through each step into a pool with an abundance of Koi fish.
We also advised replacing the old signage cut out
from stainless steel mounted on a rock-tiled wall. Tis was due to the presence of the water and mountain star 7 (double 7 in this sector), which can bring misfortune, violence and financial loss. Te signage was rejuvenated using some form of frosted glass with water gently flowing down over it. Water that gently flows over the wordings symbolizes “money flowing all over” the restaurants and entertainment outlets. The names of the restaurants and bar that were mounted onto the signage were also changed. Since the
