This Year’s 2011 Illness Star Effect on
the Horse-born T at’s me - the Horse – but also my 81-year old mum, my friend and my client, Lily, who lives in Sydney, Australia. We’ve a whole stable here! Yes, I am aware that we are barely into the second half of this year, but what a year it has been! Don’t play the fool with these annual affl ictions! Especially when they have to do with your health or well-being! In December, I went on a pilgrimage to Kathmandu with Lillian and some of her business partners. We stayed at a beautiful 5-star hotel decorated throughout with a heavy Nepalese-theme. Each guestroom had an authentic Nepalese bed with all four of its legs protruding and many of us kicked and tripped on these on a daily basis, but of course, yours truly had to do better than everyone else! At my antique age and a classic case
of ‘Mutton-trying-to-look-like-lamb’, I tried to be trendier by donning a pair of high wedge-heeled suede boots that I adored! Oh I felt so young striding around with my tights tucked and had one of our beautiful mantra shawls draped around my shoulders! I kicked the bed so hard that I fl ew into the air and somersaulted onto the other side right smack onto a mobile phone charger that was plugged into the wall. I narrowly missed hitting my head on the wall but my body hit the charger so hard that I curved both the points of the charger into a gnarled shape! T e pain! T e pain! It was so painful it took my breath away! I twisted my left knee and this caused me to limp for months and just as it got better, in early February I walked into an indentation in the carpet of the bridge connecting the aeroplane to the airport when I disembarked, twisting the same knee!!! And yes, it was the same pair of

boots! I was in tears and had to be taken to the clinic in a wheelchair! In March, I had such a bad backache I was laid up in bed for a week and diagnosed with a degenerated disk in my lower vertebrae which was triggered by a slip disk that I had a few years earlier. So far, this year has been one big pain for me – physically-speaking. THERE ARE STILL 6 MONTHS TO GO before the year is out and I am NOT taking any chances so I am now wearing….*take deep breath*….a big fat wu luo pendant, a BIG Pi Yao pendant (Horses are in side confl ict with the Tai Sui of 2011), a GIANT HUM syllable pendant all strung together on a gold chain around my neck AND a Medicine Buddha watch that has its mantra ticking/reciting every second, every minute, every hour of everyday for me!! In feng shui, the Black Flying
Star # 2 which is commonly known as the Annual Illness Star, can bring all kinds of illnesses – from the common fl u to the big ‘C’, to heart attacks and strokes AND in feng shui, it includes ACCIDENTS too! Lily is a 21-year old university student who lives in Sydney, Australia. In the past month, we have been corresponding long-distance regularly as her mum is having their house analysed. Lily agrees with me that this year has indeed been one fraught with illness energy for her too. January 2011
– She went on a holiday and returned home with a virus and gastroenteritis. February 2011 – She was very sick with viral fever a week before her 21st birthday so she didn’t have a very enjoyable coming-of-age party. April 2011 – She had a common cold but slipped on some fallen berries and fell on the street which resulted in her grazing her
hand badly.
May 2011 – She injured her back
lifting weights in a sports class. Jade is my spritely 81-year old
mother who lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In May 2011 she was taken out to the local supermarket and was left alone for just a few minutes. Somehow she fell backwards hitting her head on some shelves and had to have 2 stitches after a lot of bleeding! Scared the living daylights out of my brother!

who lives in Singapore. She is very delicate and lady-like and wears only skirts and dresses. In April of this year, she holidayed on Phi Phi Island in southern T ailand and did all the active holiday things like rock climbing, sailing and snorkelling. By the end of her week-long break, her limbs were all scratched and blue- black. It seems she was so accident- prone throughout, that holiday must have left quite an impression on her! Yes, it has been a rough year for us Horses, so thank goodness for feng shui cures, or all these inconvenient mishaps and illnesses could have ended up far worse for us. We may be feeling a little bruised and battered, but at least joyous and still able to laugh at our unfortunate fl ying stars this year, rather than having to worry about something really dire. Whenever my pain resurfaces, I re-check my feng shui, and when I reinstall a missing or accidentally- mov ed
cur e ,
I get instant relief. Don’t underestimate the power and effectiveness of
symbolic feng shui cures. A 20-Year Old Established BIG
