Paul Lancaster Adams has joined Microsoft Corporation’s United States Government Affairs group (“USGA”) as Associate General Counsel serving on the company’s USGA leader- ship team. His role includes support of strategic execu- tive projects, strategizing for interoperability, and driving attention to and promoting fair competition principles, as well as advocating on key issues to those within the government elite ecosystem. Before joining Microsoft, Adams was a partner at the Philadelphia, PA, offi ce of Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads, where he represented large publicly traded corporations. Adams received his B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.


LILA A. JABER


Shareholder Gunster


Lila Jaber is a shareholder and leader of Gunster’s new government affairs practice in Tallahassee, FL. She provides strategic advice and counsel on a number of issues including utility-related matters like rate case development and negotiations. She has been twice appointed to Florida’s Public Service Commission by Governor Jeb Bush, where she served as both commissioner and chair- man. Jaber has an extensive background in public affairs, energy, natural gas, water, telecommunications, and broadband policies. She also advises clients on issues before the Florida attorney general’s offi ce, the Florida legislature, and the Offi ce of the Governor. She received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from Stetson University.


VICTOR D. VITAL


Shareholder Greenberg Traurig, LLP


Victor Vital has joined Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas offi ce as a shareholder in the litigation practice group. His practice focuses on complex commercial dis- putes, white collar and other criminal matters, franchise litigation and banking, and fi nancial services litiga- tion. He has experience defending businesses and individuals in unfair com- petition matters, trade- mark disputes, copyright disputes, media litigation, commercial tort disputes, and in products and profes- sional liability matters. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Vital was a partner with Baker Botts in Dallas. He holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Oakwood University.


LAURA WITTE


Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Cargill


Laura Witte is Cargill’s new corporate vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary. She succeeds Steve Euller, who retired after 32 years of service to the company. She will oversee the legal needs of Cargill’s global opera- tions. In her previous role, Witte was vice president and general counsel for Cargill’s North American- based businesses. She has also worked for Cargill overseas. In 2005, she served as the company’s deputy general counsel for its European business. Prior to that, she was Asia Pacifi c general counsel. She joined Cargill in 1985 as an attor- ney in Minneapolis. Witte earned her law degree from Drake University and holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.
