Delia Cannings introduces us to Environmental Excellence Training & Development Ltd...

With over 30 years’ experience in the cleaning industry, most recently within the education sector working as the Business Development Director at Matthew Boulton College, Delia Cannings decided it

was time to set up on her own with the launch of Environmental Excellence Training & Development Ltd.

Amongst the activities, which keep her experience current and valuable, is the work undertaken in her role as the AHCP Lead for Education & Training, cleaning science advisor to many organisations, Verifier for the NHS PEAT inspections, a Lead Judge for the Euro Skills Challenge and provider of unique and stimulating learning materials designed to complement the designer provision, which is her trade mark.

Numerous accolades which include the Queen’s Anniversary prize, Beacon Awards, BICSc Excellence awards and BCA awards, as well as the AHCP outstanding performance award feature proudly as evidence of her success.

Over the years, Delia has helped over 15,000 students gain cleaning science and related qualifications. Many of these students are now proud industry professionals, managing multi-million pound contacts and thriving businesses, and even operating their own companies.

Delia’s contribution to education and training within the cleaning industry was truly acknowledged when she was made an honorary fellow of the British Institute of Cleaning Science. Several television

appearances have enhanced the national profile of the world of cleaning as a science and this lady is no stranger to controversy, as she frequently contributes to both national media and professional journals with thought-provoking editorial and articles.

Now, with the launch Environmental Excellence Training & Development Ltd, Delia is set to help many more achieve their dreams, she tells us more: “Exciting times are ahead and we need to embrace the opportunities and respond to the emerging trends and environmental factors. With this in mind, I’ve taken a new look at training and education within the cleaning industry, offering a new range of training including: Scientific Cleaning, Thinking Green, Managing Waste, Pollution Control, Air Monitoring, Decontamination, Business Improvement techniques and Technical Aspects of Hygiene.

“One specific focus is the low carbon eco technology markets, where renewable energy and energy efficiency are key areas for future development. It is predicted that 1.2 million people could be in ‘green jobs’ by the end of the decade. Environmental Excellence is fully committed and geared up to provide the training required for these jobs.”
