BATHING RITUAL to overcome all your obstacles & difficult problems
T
BURMESE BUDDHA
he Burmese believe there are 8 Astrological Guardian Buddhas that protect according to people’s 8 astrological signs. So in Yangon, many regularly visit the golden pagodas in their midst to make incense, light and flower offerings and to bathe their personal Guardian Buddhas. This is the special ritual that can remove astrological afflictions causing them aggravations and loss. This is the Ritual of Buddha Bathing and when done with faith is extremely powerful for subduing whatever obstacles are blocking your success, purifying bad karma that may be manifesting to cause you illness, money or job loss and for creating merit to receive blessings that bring prosperity and marriage happiness. If you visit the Shwedagon or any other pagoda temple in
Yangon, you will find each of the 8 Guardian Buddhas sitting in special shrines in their respective directions. If you are not sure which Buddha is your Guardian Buddha, just look for the image of your animal sign which is always found at the foot of the Astrological Buddha for that day:
Monday’s Buddha sits in the East with the Tiger. Tuesday’s Buddha sits on the Southeast with a Lion.
Wednesday’s Buddha (before 12pm) sits on the South with a Tusked elephant.
Wednesday’s Buddha (after 12pm) sits on the Northwest with a Tuskless elephant. Thursday’s Buddha sits on the West with a Rat. Friday’s Buddha sits on the North with a Guinea Pig. Saturday’s Buddha sits on the Southwest with a Dragon. Sunday’s Buddha sits on the West with a Garuda.
How to Offer bath to the Buddha: Respectfully pour cups of water equivalent to your Burmese age (this is your current age + 1) over the Buddha’s crown and body, 1 cup over the guardian spirit behind Buddha, 1 cup over the totem pole behind the Buddha and a cup of water over the animal statue below. (Total cups of water = your age + 4). Think that by cleaning Buddha’s body, you also wash away all your own negativities created in past and present lives. This sacred ritual brings enormous success.
Cate Blanchett was born on a Wednesday afternoon and is thus the “tuskless elephant”.
