SOMETIMES THE GUESTS AT OUR PARTIES go above and beyond the call of duty. Take Alex Niggemann, the Dusseldorf-born, Berlin-based producer whose ascent from a studio engineer working with DJ T to boss of the superb Soulfooled label alongside Marc Poppcke and Superlounge has taken just a few years. Not only did he rock our poolside party in Miami, dropping house bomb after house bomb (read our full Miami round-up in the May issue of DJmag out 27th April), he also took to the microphone to interview

the ever ebullient Dennis Ferrer, thereby doing our job for us! Clearly indulging in a bit more partying during the rest of the week, his ‘After Miami Madness’ chart uncovers some tasty morsels. Steve Bug’s ‘Jack is Back’, from the superb Poker Flat ‘Forward To The Past’ compilation, takes us back, way back into time, while Milton Jackson’s remix of Recloose’s ‘Can’t Take It’ takes the Detroit classic into housier waters, proving Alex ain’t no Soulfool when it comes to sniffing out the best tracks.
