Responding to increasing business, ScreenPro has moved to refurbished business premises in Birmingham. This larger facility houses an improved screen stretching area with increased capability, super large stencilling facilities, colour matching labs and a colour blending department. All this, coupled with ample warehousing facilities, allows ScreenPro to carry healthy stocks for immediate delivery.

ScreenPro’s joint managing director, Steve Hughes, said: “Having the facilities to allow customers to come and see the products they want to buy in action combined with having the space to hold sufficient stock has proved very beneficial. The large colour matching and blending facility also provides customers with peace of mind that the ink will arrive on time and to the specification requested.

“ScreenPro has built its business through a combination of investing in the latest technologies and more importantly its people. There is no point having great products if we can’t deliver excellent customer service. We are committed to providing a friendly and knowledgeable service to all our customers large or small.”

Wide format goes pay-as-you-go

Velmex Distribution has launched The Big Print Plan, a large format rental plan that offers customers hassle free ownership, billed

monthly with no large upfront investment. The plan is designed to provide a supported printing solution, billed monthly. Similar to the click charge system used by photo copiers, the customer will pay a monthly fee for printer rental, support and comprehensive machine cover including parts, labour and replacement printheads.

The ink use is measured by diagnostic software. There is no minimum billing, customers will only pay for ink used. Velmex ships replacement ink tanks next day when ink levels are low. Servicing is arranged remotely by the same diagnostics software, which also lets the Velmex support team interrogate the printer if required.

Velmex Distribution’s managing director, Mark Keeley, said: “This is a whole new concept for large format users. It is a normal process in the copier industry but the Big Print Plan is the first pay-as-you-go rental in our market. It provides an affordable printing solution for many customers trying to make the move to large format.”

Stress free ink switch Owners of established printing

machines wanting to swap to after-market inks can now make the move to Colorific’s family of solvent-based products without worrying about the change-over. In conjunction with Tech8, the transition is handled by trained engineers and followed by ongoing support.

Colorific states its ink families are compatible with Roland, Seiko, Mimaki, Mutoh and HP Designjet 9000 wide-format machines. Many printers can be changed to Colorific on the fly, without the need for flushing or special treatments.

Business manager for Colorific at IGS UK, Shaun Holdom, said: “Colorific’s quality, reliability and price quash the negative rumours that constantly abound about alternative ink options, but we appreciate that some companies are still nervous about making the transition. This is why we’re offering the services of a team of experienced technical engineers who can make the change-over, giving printer users a built-in comfort factor.”

To comply with Colorific’s quality criteria, all products are tested for reliability, compatibility, colour gamut and accuracy across different machines and materials. Users can also benefit from the Colourgreen initiative, designed to simplify the legal implications of working with solvent-based chemistries by offering a free recycling service.

Garment decorator T-Print has replaced its conveyor dryers with the latest, most efficient models from Adelco, reducing its carbon footprint in the process. This represents four complete systems, said to be the largest UK dryer investment by a UK printer for over 15 years. T-Print’s managing director, Alan Bainbridge, said: “I have worked with Mark at Adelco on drying systems for over 20 years and I am delighted with the new dryers Adelco have provided and the reduction they have made on our environmental impact.”

Adelco’s Mark Smith added: “Around a year and a half ago, we commenced a detailed test and analysis operation that resulted in a new and unique airflow design which increased the consistency of the airflow distribution in our Jet Force range of dryers and at the same time we reduced the energy consumption by as much as 30 per cent. The new airflow system also eliminated the need to add infrared preheat systems to dryers that have been common for many years. These preheat systems can represent almost half the total running cost of a gas fired dryer.”
