Bonding with the best

Viking will highlight 3M's Scotch-Weld EPX acrylic adhesive DP804, which adheres to plastic, glass and metals

Several plastic and metal bonding solutions will be displayed by signage sector tape and adhesive distributor, Viking Industrial, on its debut at the Sign and Digital exhibition.

With support from 3M’s industrial adhesives and tapes division, Viking will highlight the benefits of 3M Scotch-Weld EPX acrylic adhesive DP804. This product adheres to plastic and glass surfaces, but will also bond most metals and is suitable for any application where a coloured adhesive may detract from overall product appearance.

Equipping signmakers for success

Sign-makers will be able to pick up first-hand experience of a range of equipment and materials on the William Smith stand, with the aim of helping them identify new opportunities and directions. The RollsRoller Flatbed Applicator will be of interest to signmaking companies of all sizes, with eleven different models available. Other hardware in action during the show is the HP Designjet L25500 latex inkjet printer, said to offer improvements in turnround since prints are dry and ready to display, laminate or finish. Other hardware on show will be a cutter from Graphtec and Easymount laminators. Among the range of materials on show will be 3M’s new 80 series electro-cut, cast solid colour film, some of the most popular material choices for vehicle wrapping, optically clear view graphic film 8150, IJ8624 textured wall surface film and Contra Vision Performance window film.

As well as a vehicle featuring 3M wrapping films, visitors will have the chance to try their hand at wrapping a door panel. They can also get first hand experience of applying 3M Scotchcal IJ8624 graphic film for textured surfaces by applying on surfaces such as bricks, breeze- blocks and tiles.
