Range gets wider
Agfa Graphics has chosen Sign and Digital UK as the launch platform for two new models in its wide-format printer range.
This will be the first showing of the :Anapurna M1600, a UV machine said to provide high quality four colour printing with white in one print run. A maximum speed of 23m2/h is achievable on both rigid and roll-to- roll substrates with a print area of 1.6 by 3.0m. The new :Jeti 1224 HDC FTR high definition colour, flat-to-roll UV system will also make its European debut. This high productivity solution includes an industrial roll-to-roll unit for printing flexible substrates. It boasts a print area of 1.2 by 2.4m, speeds of up to 96m2/h for both rigid sheets and roll substrates together with the ability to print four colours and white in a single pass.
Its flatbed architecture also allows printing on substrates up to 5.0cm thick. This makes it ideal for trade show graphics, POS displays, estate agent signs, backlit signs, lenticular displays, high resolution banners, ceramic tiles and wood.

The route to success
A number of systems will be working in conjunction on AXYZ International's stand. The company will show an AXYZ 4008 router working with the automatic tool change (ATC) tangential knife and the AXYZ vision system (AVS).
Ideal for applications in the sign and graphics and digital printing industries, the AXYZ 4008 has a processing area of 2,440 by 1,466mm. The enlarged ATC facility, incorporating a S-mouse automatic tool tip calibration sensor, can handle multiple tooling functions based on a choice of either a seven or 21-station carousel-style system. Meanwhile the AVS facility is expected to enhance the speed and accuracy of routing for a range of rigid and semi-rigid materials as used in print and cut applications. The system incorporates a low-cost camera that can be mounted on the head of the router, either as a new feature or as an upgrade to existing installations, plus dedicated software.

On a roll with new print technology
Durst is set to showcase its Rho 320R roll to roll printer at Sign and Digital UK as well as introducing a new machine, seen for the first time in the UK. Designed to enable economic printing of offset quality, particularly for large format applications, the Rho 320R UV inkjet is ideal for applications such as lightbox displays, illuminated posters, window graphics, POP displays and advertising textiles. Productivity is maximised with the ability to print two rolls side by side up to a width of 160cm each with a further option for doubled sided printing.
Rho Roll inks used in the Rho 320R are environmentally friendly with no VOCs. They are said to boost economical production with low ink consumption thanks to high pigmented inks. They also allow for unattended overnight printing of big rolls, enabling economical printing of low cost print jobs.
