arts intensive

promises students the unique opportunity to explore their creativity in small group settings outside the pressures of the normal academic year. The program promotes and cultivates experience in the arts, particularly for students who are pursuing an academic career outside of arts disciplines. Over the course of two and a half weeks before the start of the fall quarter in September, Arts Intensive enables students to establish a strong relationship with faculty and peers around a specific area of artistic investigation and practice.

In its third year, Arts Intensive continues to offer eight dynamic courses spanning the arts. This year’s program includes courses in Acting, Ballet, Design Thinking, Filmmaking, Fiction Writing, Photography, Sound, and Digital Arts. Regardless of your major or previous arts experience, there is an Arts Intensive course for you. In addition, through workshops and other activities, the program encourages you to explore the full range of Stanford’s arts resources. Arts Intensive creates an atmosphere of intense artistic exploration, encouraging collaboration and innovation.. Faculty and student participants attest to the strong relationships formed in these classes and the artistic growth that arises from this partnership between students and faculty.

I encourage you, as the brochure suggests, “to explore,” contributing the best of your talent and enthusiasm.

Sincerely, Contents
