Event of the summer! M

argin in Voice & Data will once again provide a unique platform for resellers and suppliers

Paul Cunningham

The Countdown has begun to this summer’s leading channel event, Margin in Voice & Data 2011, with business transformation at the top of the agenda.

to exchange ideas, unveil new innovations and forge partnerships in the green and pleasant surroundings of the St Pierre Marriot Hotel and Golf resort in Chepstow, South Wales. The one day event on June 16th is free of charge to qualifying reseller directors and includes a full seminar and meetings programme, lunch, dinner, evening entertainment over a top quality dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast the next day before departure. Most importantly, the event will give channel players a golden opportunity to understand how the world of solution provision is changing and meet potential partners in a friendly and dynamic business environment.

Event host Nigel Sergent, Publishing Editor of Comms Dealer, commented: “Margin events have been running for many years now and remain extremely popular because of the channel focus and business opportunities they create. They work because suppliers get the chance to engage with over 100 high quality, decision making, potential partners in one place at one time. Conversely, resellers know they will get the best advice and a wide range of partnership opportunities

to evaluate during the course of an intensive one day programme.”

Channel players must keep up with the changing market environment to make sure they do not get left behind and MiVaD Content Director Paul Cunningham is promising a coherent and dynamic seminar programme to stimulate lively debates. He noted: “Three major shifts are happening in the market for business communications technologies, namely the rapid evolution of the mobile consumer-focused device, the consolidation and virtualisation of ICT resources and the emergence of innovative and collaborative channel models. These will characterise and shape our industry in the coming months and years. The content will hopefully provide food for thought for the meeting sessions in the afternoon and without doubt some discussions over dinner and in the bar.”

Strategic impacts

Cunningham says the opening session will consider the wide scope and possible strategic impact of these shifts on voice and data channel players and identify key areas for analysis and discussion throughout the MiVAD program. Subjects will include: • How far has consumer-focused technology choice disrupted the enterprise ICT view?

• Which collaborative technologies will drive our market through 2012?

• Does size matter? Can small specialist players compete in a consolidating and virtualising world?

• How great a threat is the ‘direct vendor’ model and can it be countered?

• Can peer-to-peer partnering in the channel ever be more than a tactical response to opportunity?

Roadmaps pave the way The second seminar session will evaluate the continued evolution of the business communications technology channel and suggest and present roadmaps for the successful development of various business models within channel sectors such as the following: • Telcos, service providers and aggregators

• Telecoms dealers • Systems VARs and integrators • Independent software vendors • Mobile networks • Managed services and support providers
