The JCB launch at this year’s Show was its new forward travel vibrating plate compactors. About to replace long established Vibromax designs, the new models FP1030W, FP1540W and FP1550W have cast base plate widths of 300, 400 and 500mm respectively. Their operating weights are 56-60kg, 87-95kg and 92-100kg. All three plates have Honda petrol engines, namely a 2.8hp GX100 on the FP1030W and a 4.8hp GX160 on the two bigger machines. Vibration frequency is 100Hz for each plate, with centrifugal force being 10kN for the FP1030W and 15kN for both the FP1540W and FP1550W. These newcomers are designed for

improved operator comfort with lower HAV levels than their predecessors. Options for all three models include a paving plate and a 19-litre polyurethane water tank with sprinkler bar. There are also optional transport wheels for the two heavier plates.

Communicate with Youngman

Youngman Group showed the Etherlive Ecolite P Plus tower light, a version of the popular Ecolite P with the additional communications capabilities of a built-in wireless access point, CCTV camera and public address speakers. It is designed to reduce the infrastructure required at outdoor events, simplifying setup and deployment. The camera relays full-frame video back to a central viewing point or hard disk, and the audio announcement unit can either work with an existing PA system or run independently. The tower also provides wired and wireless internet communications. Youngman also demonstrated its new Boss X3X-SP compact scissor lift, the first self-propelled machine in its range, which offers a maximum working height of 5.14m and is 0.76m wide. The unit can turn within its own footprint of 1.27m, and has a safe working load capacity of 150kg.
