EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued

In the picture with DeWalt

New launches from DeWalt included a range of 10.8V cordless tools. One item with hire potential is the DCT41451 infra red thermometer, which can be used to find leaks or hot spots in ducting, or for checking water pipe temperatures. It covers a range from minus 30 to 500°C, and it works by emitting a laser beam on to the object being examined. Also new is a cordless inspection camera that has a detachable screen to facilitate operation in confined spaces. It can take still pictures and video footage for record capture, with the images being stored on a micro SD card.

Compact Western fuel carriers

Western previewed its new Transcube Contractor range of compact transportable fuel tanks, which will be officially launched this month. Available in capacities of 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 litres, the stackable units feature similar rugged qualities to those of the existing popular Transcube line-up of larger tanks. The Show line-up also included Purafuel filter

trolleys designed to enable the transfer or recycling of dirty or water-contaminated fuel, removing particles down to 30 microns. Models are available in 12 and 240V. Also new are a range of sticker packs to enable users to ensure compliance with regulations introduced in January regarding the labelling of tanks and IBCs (intermediate bulk containers), and which incorporate appropriate orientation arrows and hazard markings.

The 200kg-capacity Nano SP self-propelled telescopic mast low-level access platform was launched at the Executive Hire Show last year by Power Towers. Now the innovative manufacturer has developed two new variants - the entry-level Nano SP Zero and the Nano SP Plus. All three Nano SP platforms provide a maximum working height of 4.5m. The cost-effective SP Zero comes without a

roll-out deck and is aimed at hire companies and end users seeking a compact self-propelled platform with the simplicity of a push-around unit. The Nano SP Plus incorporates a 1.0m roll-out deck extension (longer than the 500mm extension of the standard Nano SP), and in this mode the machine has a carrying capacity of 120kg.
