MEETING OF MINDS
Plans for The Business Travel Conference 2011 are now firmly in place as it prepares to bring together suppliers and buyers and tackle the evolving challenges of business travel management
KEY speakers are booked, the programme of seminars and workshops is confirmed and registration is now open – The Business Travel Conference 2011 is gearing up to be the best yet! Now in its fifth year, TBTC is firmly established as the industry event for those responsible for booking, buying, arranging or handling business travel and meetings at companies both large and small. The Business Travel Conference takes place on Monday and Tuesday October 17-18 at the Novotel London West, Hammersmith.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER This year’s keynote speaker is ’The Blind Adventurer’ and motivational speaker, Miles Hilton-Barber. Miles went blind in his early twenties and as a
motivational speaker he weaves together rich anecdotes and humour with the powerful life-lessons he’s learnt while overcoming his blindness. His message is: “attitude is what determines altitude” and that “the only limits in our lives are those we accept ourselves.” Miles is an exceptional corporate speaker whose messages of “never give up”, “expect the unexpected” and “think big to achieve big” will resonate well with business travel arrangers currently battling the recessionary trends.
SEMINAR PROGRAMME Other expert industry speakers will take to the stage for TBTC’s educational programme of five seminars and nine workshops across the two days, which take place alongside a private attendee-only exhibition of leading suppliers. Conference seminars will start with a review
of the last 12 months, looking at how the role of travel managers and arrangers has changed in a session entitled Business Climate Change. There will then be an On the Right Side Of The Law session looking at the latest in corporate manslaughter legislation. Learning From The Best session will focus on a corporate case study; and the Counting the Cost session will feature a senior travel buyer tackling the subject of

expense management. The final wrap-up session, Where Do We Go From Here, will review and draw conclusions from the two days of educational seminars and workshops.
